Before booking podcast recording services in Nepal, prepare a clear topic, guest plan and list of the outputs you need.

A guest does not need a script. They do need to know what the conversation is about, who it is for and what they may be asked to discuss. A short brief gives the host room to listen while keeping the episode on track. At House of Legends in Paknajol, Thamel, the technical team handles the recording setup while the host leads the conversation.

Choose one audience question for the episode

A useful episode begins with a specific reason to listen. Instead of covering everything about a guest's career, choose one question your audience cares about. A founder might explain how a product solves a problem, while an educator might walk through a common misunderstanding.

Write the episode promise in one sentence, then choose a few supporting themes. This helps the host follow interesting answers without losing the thread. You do not need to rehearse every word; you need a direction that both the host and guest understand.

Prepare a conversation map rather than a rigid script

Start with an opening question the guest can answer comfortably. Move towards examples, decisions and lessons. Keep follow-up prompts ready, such as asking what changed, what went wrong or how the guest would explain the idea to a beginner.

  • Opening: introduce the guest and the question the episode will explore.
  • Context: explain the background listeners need before the detailed story.
  • Examples: ask for specific experiences that make the explanation concrete.
  • Takeaway: finish with a practical lesson or a clear next step.

For branded interviews, approve factual claims and names before recording. Give the guest the subject areas and intended use of the footage. If certain topics are private, establish those boundaries before the microphones are live.

Share languages and subtitle requirements

Tell the team whether the discussion will be in Nepali, English or a mixture. Spoken language, subtitle language and translated captions are different decisions. Share correct spellings for local names, organisations and technical terms.

Decide who approves subtitle accuracy and translated meaning. A bilingual conversation can lose detail when words are transcribed mechanically. Agree the review responsibility and schedule rather than discovering translation needs after the final cut.

Give the studio the details that affect setup

Send the number of speakers, expected recording duration, preferred date and seating or movement requirements. Mention any product, instrument or visual demonstration that needs to appear on camera. Ask about suitability before bringing a setup that differs from a seated conversation.

If you want short clips, say so before recording. Different framing may be needed for vertical delivery. Our camera coverage guide explains how to plan the episode and social outputs together.

Know the recording setup before you arrive

The studio setup can combine Shure SM7B microphones and RODECaster Pro II recording with Sony A6400 cameras and an ATEM Mini Pro ISO workflow. DJI wireless microphones suit formats with more movement. Confirm the camera and microphone count, monitoring plan and file handover for your session.

If you only need the recording, agree which camera and audio files you will receive. If you need a finished episode, list the edit, clips, captions, thumbnail and platform exports separately. This keeps the session setup and post-production plan connected.

Use the sound check well

Speak at your normal level while the team checks microphones and camera frames. Keep phones quiet, avoid tapping the table and tell the crew if headphones or seating feel uncomfortable. A small adjustment before the episode can prevent repeated distractions.

During recording, leave a short pause after a question and allow the guest to finish. If someone stumbles over an important name or statement, repeat the complete sentence. Tell the editor which version to use instead of assuming the correction will be obvious.

Make one session useful beyond the full episode

Ask questions that invite complete answers. An explanation with a clear beginning and conclusion is easier to turn into a standalone clip. Note moments you like, but keep recording the conversation naturally rather than interrupting every answer to create a short.

Confirm the editing scope: final episode, separate audio if needed, clips, captions and thumbnails. Publishing is another step, so clarify who uploads, writes descriptions and checks the finished video. Recording alone does not make every output ready to publish.

Copy this brief for your booking

Frequently asked session questions

Do guests need to memorise answers?

Usually a topic outline and a few examples are more useful than memorised answers. For precise announcements or technical statements, prepare and approve the wording that must be accurate.

Can I record several episodes in one visit?

Ask the studio to confirm a suitable booking. Allow time for breaks, guest changes and checks between episodes. Agree the total recording duration and separate deliverables for each episode.
